Tonight: Pearce faces former team

It's a rare Monday night game this evening, the first in the Elite League this season, with Belfast hosting Dundee. Both sides won their home and home series straight after Christmas.

Belfast's wins over Glasgow mean the Giants have won their last three games, although their home form has been at 50% over the last five matches. Four points off top spot but with two games in hand, the Giants have stayed with the chasing pack despite not firing on all cylinders over the opening months of the season.

Dundee got much-needed wins over Fife to bring themselves back to within five points of the playoff places. Although they are statistically the worst road team in the league this season, the Stars have won on two of their three visits to Belfast already this campaign. It will be the first time they face former teammate Elgin Pearce who will be lining up in teal tonight.

"We're focussing on ourselves, the rest of the teams at the top will do their thing and we've got to take care of our own. Dundee have two wins in our building this season out of three and it's important we level the series with them." - Adam Keefe (Head Coach, Belfast Giants)

"If we play well like we have done defensively in our last three games then we will give ourselves a chance to win the hockey game. Tha's not just in our own zone but also making smart decisions and passes in the neutral and offensive zones as well. We need to build on these performances we've had of late and hopefully get something in Belfast, but it's never an easy place to go." - Omar Pacha (Head Coach, Dundee Stars)
